So, what is coming today? We are not sure right now but we can make some educated guess.

Update: The India Today Tech can now confirm that Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani will make announcements regarding Jio services on December 1, which is today.

If you remember when Reliance Jio announced its tariff plans way back in September, something called public Wi-Fi was mentioned in each plan. To refresh your memory, each plan had certain amount of data to be used over Jio public Wi-Fi only. The company is already testing the Wi-Fi in parts of the country. Since starting from January 1 people will have to buy the paid plans it becomes necessary for Jio to prepare its services to full.

Today Reliance Jio may also announce availability of public Wi-Fi at some locations before launching it more widely by January 1, 2017.

We have already discussed Reliance Jio’s plan to enter the IoT market with smart home and other similar services. Jio’s smart home plan is heavy based on its Fibre To The Home (FTTH) service so it won’t be surprising if the company announces its FTTH broadband plans tomorrow.

Considering Jio’s early popularity we expect it to disrupt the market again with its aggressive new services and offers. Although how well these services will work is something that no one can be sure of, especially now when we have seen that the picture is not exactly rosy with the reliability fo quality of Jio 4G connectivity. Although despite teething problems, Jio has been seemingly received well enough by consumers. The company already has 50 million users according to sources and it is possible that as it moves to the commercial launch of services, it may gather more subscribers.
