Reliance Jio starts testing of gigabit FTTH in India

Earlier this month, Reliance Jio took the telecom industry by storm when it announced cheapest 4G data plans. At its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 1, chairman Mukesh Ambani also talked about the company’s plans on fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service, which he said will offer broadband speeds up to 1Gbps.
Now as per a report in Phoneradar, the company’s Jio GigaFiber plan is open for public testing and details of the tariff plan reveal aggressive pricing. It is worth noting that Reliance has already revealed that it is testing the broadband service plans in certain parts of India internally.
As per report, the Fibre plans will be available in Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers where the base price starts at Rs 500. The plans are distributed based on data volume and speeds. The base plan is said to offer 100GB free data for first 90 days along with access to Jio apps such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioBeats and more.
