Apple watch finally has been launched in India

The Apple Watch was originally unveiled in September 2014 and released in April in the US and select developed markets. Now, Apple’s smart wearable has finally set foot in India ahead of Diwali (aka Deepavali).

It runs the WatchOS (v2.0 released) user interface, created specifically for a smaller device. It also features the Digital Crown, a creative way to scroll, zoom and navigate fluidly, without much distraction on the display. The Digital Crown also serves as the Home button and an easy access to voice assistant Siri.

The Retina display on the Apple Watch features Force Touch, a technology that senses the difference between a tap and a press, providing a new way to quickly and easily access controls within apps.

The Apple Watch comes packed with state-of-art technology-based Taptic Engine and a built-in speaker that together discreetly enable an entirely new avenue of alerts and notifications you both hear and feel. Apple has custom-designed its own S1 SiP (System in Package) to miniaturise an entire computer architecture onto a single chip.

Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair seamlessly with your iPhone.

It comes in three distinct collectable editions — Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition — available in two different sizes: 38 mm and 42 mm.

These devices come with premium materials like metallic alloys with polished space-black stainless steel/ space-gray/silver-anodised aluminum, and a special-edition luxury model is said to be made of 18-karat rose or yellow gold.

The Apple Watch is compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, running the iOS v8.0 and later versions.
